Agreement

By installing and using Video Controls Plus ("the extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the extension.

1. License

Video Controls Plus grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to install and use the extension on your personal devices for your own personal, non-commercial use.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the extension only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

Use the extension to violate any laws or regulations
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
Use the extension to circumvent digital rights management (DRM) protections
Use the extension for any unauthorized commercial purposes
Distribute, sell, or sublicense the extension
Use the extension to access content you are not authorized to view

3. Intellectual Property

The extension, including all code, design, graphics, and content, is owned by Ahsan Mahmood and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The extension is licensed, not sold.

4. Third-Party Content

The extension modifies the playback of videos on third-party websites. We do not own, control, or have any affiliation with YouTube, Netflix, Udemy, or any other video platform. Your use of those platforms is subject to their respective terms of service.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the extension will be compatible with all websites or browsers.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL AHSAN MAHMOOD BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION.

7. Privacy and Data Collection

Your use of the extension is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Essential Data Collection: By using the extension, you acknowledge and consent to the collection of essential data including:

Account information when signed in (email, name)
Location data (timezone, locale, country via IP geolocation)
Device information (browser, OS, extension version)
Usage data (sites used, speed settings, features used)

This essential data collection cannot be disabled as it is required for the extension to function and for us to improve our service.

Optional Data: Third-party analytics (Firebase Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Amplitude) is enabled by default but can be disabled in extension settings at any time.

8. Updates and Modifications

We may update the extension from time to time. These updates may include bug fixes, new features, or security patches. By continuing to use the extension after updates are released, you agree to the updated Terms.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the extension at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the extension will immediately cease.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
